The next two years are a fight for survival as she is continuously driven across the region where magic is forbidden, and further north toward Attuneage, a college built upon that very magic. She will avoid capture by living off of the forest, where she improves her skills with her weapons. She will also need to learn to live with her curse. Again and again being hunted, she eventually finds herself captured by a group of outlaws. With them she learns to further defy the laws set by the region's tyrannous rule. But even as she nears a place accepting of magic, her own curse connects her to the most infamous woman in all of Terymid. She still finds herself wondering if she will be accepted.
